Altitude affecting CAH?
Feb. 13th, 2004   4:33pm

Does anyone know if high altitudes can affect people with CAH, particulary the SW kind??  My 4 year old son has SWCAH.  We drove up to Mammoth Mountain last night (elevation 11,000 feet) for some fun time in the snow.  On the way up, he started complaining of being overly thirsty.  About 1/2 hour before we arrived, he started throwing up violently.  Needless to say, it was not a fun experience having a scared 4 year old boy retching on the side of a mountain road (where the temparture was 11 degrees).  We double dosed him and, thankfully, he kept the meds down.

He seems to be fine today so he may have just been car sick (although he has never been car sick before).  I was curious to know if anyone else had experienced this problem.

Thanks,

Kristin
