Hi Rick,

I have SW-CAH, 21-hydroxylase def.  I’m 39 and I’ve always been battling weight (more so as an adult).  I’d like to think 4 kids has something to do with it but I know it is because I’m slacking off.

I do best when I avoid carbs (real hard if you crave salt :-)) and have a good exercise program (weight training and cardio).

I also try to stay on as little Dex as my doctor will let me.  If the dex is too high, I’m always starving.  This is easier as an adult than as a child.  A four year old child might not be able to tell you that the dose is too low.  Then there is the whole bone age thing.  As you get older, you get a feel for it.

Try to make exercise a part of her life just like her meds are.  I wish my parents had.

Sorry if I threw a lot of scattered thoughts out to you.  If you have any questions, just post.
