KayeMy two year old with swcah has a weight problem as well. We have battled this from about 10 months till now. She is 2 1/2 yo, and weighs 43 pounds. I have been on the end of the pointed finger from the doctors telling me it is her diet, and I finally told them I am tired of being accused of feeding her junk. My five year old weighs 35 pounds and they both eat the same things. Neither child eats very many processed foods, almost everything in our household is made from scratch, including our pastas. I pack their lunches for school so I know what they are eating and I still battle with her weight. She has even started pushing herself away from the table with a portion of what I have given her left in her bowl. I am going to ask her doctor about circadian dosing once again. It was between 10 months and 15 months that she had an enormous weight gain. She weighed 27 pounds at 10 months old, and shot up to 37 pounds by the eighteenth month, all the while I was counting her calories. I maintained that for about six months, and then in the month that we relocated and got in to see our new doctor here in California she weighed in at 45 pounds. I have managed to lose two of those pounds, but have had no luck since. Thankfully she has managed to "hold" at 43. It is a very fine line to walk with such a small child, I too am worried about giving her an eating disorder. We just purchased a country property so I am hoping once the rainy season passes here that the large space she has to run in will help manage her weight until her growth catches up.
