Though mortality is an obvious concern with CAH, I often think that focussing too much on DEATH can backfire. The problem is that---when someone DOESN’T feel any immediate ill effects from not taking meds---I think they can get a false sense of security. You know...."I’m not dead, and don’t even feel particularly sick, therefore the meds must not really be necessary."
My feeling is that the side effects of no meds may NOT show up for quite a long time. The problem is that---by the time you start getting symptoms of things going wrong---it may be too late to reverse the damage done.
