I am not sure if boys stop growing later than girls - I think it may be linked to puberty and boys seem to start that later.  Michelle, I was told my son’s bones were fused when he was 14 and there was no chance of more growth!!  I even asked about growth hormones as my son was very upset.  A year later he is still growing and he is now 5’ 9" -  so he has grown 3 " since I was told he wouldn’t grow at all!  I also think the x-rays should be read by the same doctor - different centres have given me very different readings.  Good luck
