I was diagnosed with CAH in ’03 and have been taking prednisone for the past year to bring the hormone levels down into the normal range. I am thinking about getting pregnant but am very worried about how my CAH can effect my baby. My husband is going to have a genetic test done to make sure he is not a carrier of any genetic disorders that will double whammy our child. What do the doctors do as soon as you get pregnant. My endo. doctor said that i would be high risk in that they will have to monitor the development of the fetus and the liklihood of being put on medication. What is dex and what does it do to me and how does it help the fetus? when will they perform a test to determine the sex of the baby and whether i have to keep taking the medication or not? all information would be helpful. i just want to know the facts. i have always had regular menstrual cycles so i’m not worried about that part. how long did it take some of you to get pregnant and what did you do to get pregnant (medication, positions, charting, temperature). thanks so much in advance for all your help.Jackie
