I spoke to Kelly, from the CARES Foundation, about this topic the other day. She told me that the NIH is doing research on gene therapy and that realistically it could take 20 years. Optimistically 10 years. Either way... that is not too far off.  Luckily they have all the money they need at their disposition. Dr. New is also doing research and she said that a cure would be found in her lifetime. Who knows the scientific community changes so fast that it’s hard to keep up. It’s like when you buy a computer and then two weeks later it’s a boat anchor! I hope that it’s in 10 but even 20 years would be a true blessing....as long as the cure is not worse than the disorder!
