Hi Jackie-

Sorry to hear you was diagnosed with CAH and my heart goes out to you and your family! I was born with CAH <21-hydroxylase that is associated with salt wasting form> and I was able to concieve and carry to full term. I was concidered as a high risk pregnancy and had to go to the hospital pretty regularly so that they could run some test on me and how the baby was developing. I have been on Dexamethasone and Fludrocortisone for a long time. But when I got pregnant they had to take me off of the Fludrocortisone in fear it would harm the fetus. I was able to give birth to a healthy 7 pound 3 oz. little girl who will be turning 21 in just a few months. She was able to escape having CAH, but she can be a carrier of the gene. As far as how long it took for me to get pregnant,I can’t answer that for you. I wasn’t expecting to be able to concieve after being told since before my teen years that I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant so that was something that I never looked forward to ever having the possibilty as becoming a mother! I hope I was able to help you and give you a better outlook.

Best wishes to you and your husband!

Becky
