Congrats on your little fighter! I know where you are coming from as does almost everyone on this board. I thought at the 3 week point that if I heard one more doctor say "It’s going to get better." I would just throttle them!!! ;-) But now my daughter is at 18 months almost and it is like night and day. After the initial 6 months (not constantly, just seeing how her body was going to react to certain meds etc. . . plus we had to deal with UTI’s) it has been smooth sailing. We have come through fevers and vomiting (normal kid and flu stuff) and she came thorugh like a champ, most of the time better than the nonCAH kids around her. She is very empathetic and strong . . .and smart. Too smart for her own good sometimes! But in every way except for her having to take her meds, on a day to day basis, she is just like any other kid running around the backyard getting scraped and chasing her puppy.
By the way, when we came out of the hospital we were crushing pills and fretting about not getting all the meds she needed into her etc. . .but then wejust started dissolving the pills in oral syringes and the stress of that was gone! There are a lot of people on here with all kinds of tips and tons and tons of stories. . .you have a support system and a whole flock of people that know where you are coming from, ask any questions you need!
Enough rambling! Congrats again! (CARES foundation is a great resource as well)
