Tanya,

Hang in there honey! Your story is almost exactly like mine. My son is a salt wasting CAH’er. At 8 days old he was careflighted to Dallas Children’s. His potassium was too high to calculate and sodium was barely detectable. His arrythmia was so bad from the potassium that his heart rate was only 62 and his blood oxygen level was in the low 80’s. He had heart failure at the back door of the ER on the chopper pad. It was very hard to watch the process, but he rebounded like a trooper.  He is 6 mo. old now and doing GREAT! It takes a little time to absorb all the lingo and what to do when, but reading this message board answered tons of my questions. You can ask anything and someone on here will help you.

Take a deep breath and let your "mommy" instincts take control. The more you learn, the easier it will get. I’m still learning myself.
