Our son was severely jaundiced -it was "diagnosed" visually at first & then through the bilirubin. Once he was released from the hospital (he was in NICU for 4 days with pneumonia), he was being tested every day (for a week) for the jaundice, but really it’s fairly common in Colorado babies, so that’s what they were "chalking" it up to. -and the weight loss was being attributed to possible problems with my breast milk so they had me switch to formula during that time. After 8 days, the newborn screening came back with the CAH diagnosis -thank goodness as they said another day or 2 and we would’ve lost him. It is an interesting "theory."Darlene
