Hi Megan, I have SWCAH and i have stopped for different lengths of time as been on meds for 33 yrs you do get sick of them. I have had many thing happen. I have gone thru Pneumonia 5 times, lung problems, mood swings - psychotic episodes, suicidal thoughts, extra hair growth, I have also had a few adrenal crisis’s. I HAVE SPENT QUITE ALOT OF TIME IN HOSPITAL. I also have ulcers and a hiatus Hernia from the meds. You can get tumours on your adrenals and you kidneys when you stop your meds so you might want to get checked. It can be hard but we are a special group of people and each one is unique in our condition CAH. I am in Alice Springs, Australia working as a Chef as i have for 17 yrs so i am under stress more than usual with my meds but if you can get them under control you can do anything you want. All my DR’S can’t believe it been in such a stressful job and been able to stay in control now. GOODLUCK HOPE ALL GOES WELL 4 U. JAYNE
