LisaI’m sorry I don’t have any experience with this yet, but have been trying to get my daughter’s endo.’s blessing to try it. I’m curious, did your doctor approve of this new plan?? Because of the way the pills would have to be split our dr. does not want us to do it. I am going to talk more at our next appointment. Did your dr. come up with how much to reduce the total dose (from 12.5mg per day to 10mg per day). I want to do the same thing because my 5 month old son is on 10mg/day (this seems very high for such a little guy) but we still have not been able to get his 17ohp below 450 (and this blood was taken only 3 hours after med’s so I’m sure it is way worse in the early morning hours).
I notice from your schedule that you will be dosing her 37.5%, 37.5%, 12.5% and 12.5%. The Moeller study that I have been studying recommends 3:00 a.m. = 33%, 7:00 a.m. = 30%, 12:00p.m. = 22%, 5:30 p.m. = 15%. How did you come up with this schedule? With your schedule the pills would divide easier.
I am hoping with the 4x/day circadian dosing we will be able to reduce the daily total and get him under better control. I think my dr. is worried about compliance. He obviously doesn’t realize how anal I am about all of this. It’s great that your dr. lets you be an active participant in your daughters treatment plan. I can tell our dr. just wants me to do what he says and quit asking so many questions. TOO BAD!!!!
Good luck and I look forward to hearing how it is going for you daughter. I hope you see an improvment. Lisa
