I have to say that I agree with Rick. Our twin girls had surgery in December when they were 13 months old. They weren’t extreme cases, but we wanted the surgery ASAP. Within 2-3 days of the surgery, they were back to normal activity. They have no recollection of it either. We didn’t want the girls to grow up being different physically from everyone else. Yes, they will always have CAH and take meds, but now they look just like every other baby girl.

Teenage years are very delicate and that is quite a decision to make. Also, the pain and memories of it are going to be there forever. My girls will never know untill we tell them. I know that if I had had CAH, i would have wanted my parents to have the surgery at an early age  and make that decision for me in my best interest.
