i think ALL little children are at a potential risk for low blood sugar at times. most children do not have  a lot of "reserve" when it comes to this, thats why a diet that encourages high protein foods, esp. in the am, is crucial. my son (swcah) was just in the hospital for 3 days with a stomach bug. he definitely was close to crisis 2 x. fatigue, lethary and poor muscle tone after vomiting a few hours. they drew all his labs multiple times and his glucose was always fine. i think there is no doubt , though, that true adrenal crisis will eventually result in low glucose values. its tricky. who knows?!?!?!
