Thank you for this interesting response. I know right after I read the post from Wendy Lee about her daughter having to go back into the E.R. with low blood sugar, I asked my ped. about a glucometer. She too said insurance just may not pay for it but gave us a prescription for one. My husband and I discussed it and decided that we would vow to push sugary and salty fluids when she got that sick and not purchase the glucameter. And if she did get as sick to vomit continuously, we were taking her into the E.R. if she looked good or not. We discussed our plan of action MANY times with not only our endocrinologist but our ped. endo. We review it often. I don’t ever want to call her ped. when she gets that sick and have them screw around deciding what exactly to do for her. Although I would be quite interested to check my daughter’s sugar level at times. I worry to death because juvenille diabetes runs in my husband’s side of the familiy. Does anyone with CAH have diabetes?Laura
