I have done a lot of searches on the internet about burning tongue, geographic tongue etc. as I have been plagued with these problems for quite a few years. Unfortunately most of the sites put it down to a benign problem and are really of very little help. Doctors also tend to fob it off, saying "oh it’s nothing serious". Have you found that? Well, in my book, even if it is not serious it’s .....annoying!

I can’t help thinking back to the past when the old doctors would take a look at your tongue and seem to be able to gather a lot of information from it. What’s happened to them?

Deep down I do think there is a relationship to something else going on in the system - perhaps like a fine-tuning problem. When I was non-compliant with my CAH meds for a few years one of the very distressing symptoms I experienced towards the end was a constant burning tongue. Even though I have recommenced the steroids I still do have this problem most of the time, although to a lesser degree.
