aimeeI have CAH but it’s with simple- virilizing and it’s 11-hydroxylase deficiency which would make a difference. I’ve been working since I was 12 and as an adult I work full-time or more. I have sensitivity for the people with CAH that feel that work is over - whelming for them. There for the grace of GOD go I and just because I have CAH doesn’t mean I have a clue as to how someone else is managing it. One of the owners of the company that I work for now recently said to me " I like that you always come in with a smile even when you don’t feel well." Sometimes I don’t feel well in the morning but I’d rather be on the clock making money than at home if at all possible.
I was a job coach for people with physical and/or mental challenges and their disability checks don’t help them like how you would imagine. It’s an existence and that’s it. There is a job out there for everyone even with a challenge, I had clients that couldn’t walk or use their hands to write but they could move a mouse on a computer screen and were able to put pressure on the mouse to have it click over a computer program. Another client was blind and he put together merchandise by feel. There was this lady with major depression but she had another thing and that is that she wanted to be out in the work force and to see her slight smile on Friday when she got her paycheck was amazing.
Best Wishes,
Aimee
