We have been told by our endo. and pediatrician that it would be far worse if the CAH child actually got the disease they are being immunized against -obviously. That said, before we knew our son had SWCAH, we were actually considering not getting many of the immunizations. However, after he was diagnosed, we thought differently. There weren’t any immunzs. we were told not to get for CAH, however, one we didn’t get all the shots to (there were 4) was Prevnar, just because of his reaction. He got 2 of the 4 shots & with both of those, he got fevers over 101, so we decided (and discussed it with his pediatrician’s blessing) not to get the remainder. Other than that, he did great. There is always a risk, even for a "healthy" child. I would discuss it with your endo &/or ped. to be sure you are comfortable, and then make the best decision you can. Best wishes!Darlene
