I am a 56year old CAH, who was eventually diagnosed when I was 7 years of age, I was  put on cortisone for some years and then changed to prednisone.  I had the rebellion period when I felt well and didn’t need these meds!!!! But that didn’t last long, I have been on steroids for 49years and have worked since I was sixteen.  My career as a critical care nurse has had its stressful moments, but I have survived well working, I only have had adrenal crisis, when confronted with Gastric Flu, or when I had a bowel obstruction.   In the last year I have had a hip replacement due to avascular necrosis a longterm effect of the steroids, but I hope to return to work by the summer!!   If there is and  OLD CAH  people out there I would like to communicate with you.

Thanks for reading my story.      Sheila
