My daughter, age 5, is an 11-beta. There isn’t much to be found about it. All of the general information that you find concerning 21-hydroxylase is appropriate.

Only about 2% of 11-beta’s are saltwasters (the enzime before the deficiency is salt-retaining). You will want to talk with your ped endo about if he is or isn’t. Though when my daughter is sick, she seems to have salt-wasting tendencies.  The 3 times she has needed an injection we have also then had to head to the ER to get fluids.

The one thing that they really will keep track of with 11-beta’s is the blood pressure -- hypertension is often seen with 11-beta (in particular if the control is not good).
