I think they must have faxed the results to his Doctor actually because he had them pretty quickly.

We are talking about 17 Hydroxyprogesterone blood spot testing. It’s similar to the test a baby had a few days after birth--the heel prick. Except we take the bloods from the inside of the finger tip-about a mm from the nail. You then have to fill a little spot on a card (like blotting paper) with a circle on it. It’s about a cm diameter.
You then put it away somewhere where it cannot be touched by flying insects etc until it’s dry and then fold the card, pop in an envelope and send to the labs. They then re hydrate it at the labs and test it. Here is a picture of the front and back of the card:
