LynnTSeveral years ago I began to look into the possibility of developing a diabetes-like pump to deliver our precious little angle’s their cortef intravenously. I had even spoken with a scientist who worked for a multi billion dollar company that my husband did business with. He had agreed to look into it if I came up with more detailed information for him.
When I came back to this board for input, I was basically told it would be more trouble than it was worth due to the care needed to keep the wound site clean and free of infection.
I have since spoken with several diabetics and they said it was relatively easy for adults as well as children to program and keep clean.
Now that it seems we are coming to an agreement that the current treatment isn’t as optimal as what our children deserve, would this be a good time to put something together again? I would submit that the pump should be able to be programmed to release cortef (or the likes) more in line with the Circadian Rhythm and that the dosing could be increased or decreased as needed.
I am not a scientist, nor do I pretend to be, but I am willing to undertake this project again with a renewed zest and help from some of my friends.
What do you guys think?
