I know the idea of a pump would horrify my son, although I can see the benefit for diabetics. For quite a few years my son has carried extra medication (should he need it) and although rarely used, I find he is quite a good judge and will increase his medication as and when he needs it.  Hydrocortisone tablets are absorbed pretty quickly, so he seldom has problems. 

I think Carol makes a very good point.   It has always bothered me that views amongst specialists differ so widely, as what is termed good control by one would be regarded as oversuppression by another!
