ToniaI know this has been posted before but today a "lock down" situation actually happened at my 6 & 7 year olds school. There was a domestic dispute at our local grocery. A step son came into the store and actually tried to shoot his step mother. A bagger stepped into the way and got shot in the stomach! We live in a small village with less than 3000 people! When the shooter left the scene, all of the schools in the village went into lock down for several hours. Fortunately, my girls don’t need any meds besides emergencies during school hours but it got me thinking. I thought we lived in this nice, safe, small town. As my husband pointed out, we lost our innocence today (by the way he is a police officer for the metro area close to us- we were on our way to this store when the shooting happened and he decided we should just get gas and go home!). You never know what will happen no matter where you live. I will be talking to the nurse tomorrow about future situations. I just never thought this could happen (ie: my daughters could not get to their water, etc.).
Just a lesson learned in our little village today. :)
Blessings,Tonia
