i must say, i doubt if it has anything to do with cah. my 4 yr old (non cah) was sick at least 1-2 times per month and always ran a high fever. she has even had febrile seizures and saw a pediatric infections disease doc. i can totally sympathize with your family. it was a horrible time for us. she would always have the fever first, and then other typical symptoms would come like a runny nose, cough, vomiting, ear infection, etc. they were all normal childhood illnesses, its just that she got every one of them. the infections disease doc felt it was just bad luck and it would eventually resolve. she was right. around 2 1/2 yrs of age, she stopped getting sick so often. now, at 4, she is sick about 3 times per year. i know b/c your grandaughter has cah, it is 20x more stressful with the dosage increases, etc. to be honest, i quit my job when my oldest was 5 months b/c i couldnt take it anymore. we have just made sacrifices over the years and adjusted our lifestyle to meet my husbands income. i know that is not right for everyone, just what we did. i now work 1-2 days a week to supplement. i will keep your family in my prayers. please feel free to email me if you would like.

love, louise
