AnonThanks so much. I will appreciate additional inputs if anyone has anything to add.
I checked in with my OB this morning. It appears that things are better than what was predicted but bad enough. From the ultrasound it doesn’t look like the whole sack ruptured but since I lost so much water it is assumed that it was probably the outer sack that tore. In addition the doctor found the spot of the CVS to be too large and he is taking it seriously. My doctor is a high risk OB. He performs Amnios on his own and claims to have had two instances where the water broke. In both cases it refilled and the mothers went on to deliver healthy babies, but since an amnio is done further in pregnancy than a CVS he wasn’t able to predict what will happen with me. In any case, since it’s not the whole thing that tore he is now giving me a 10% of misscarring instead of the original 50% that he expected. Though, of course I’ll have to take it easy and be tied to strict bed rest for at least four weeks.
I received the sex results of the baby early this afternoon. Sandra, what method do they use to perform a FISH? Do you know how they do the rest of the analysis? Did you have to pay extra for the FISH? They told me that it costs $200-$300 more and isn’t necessary. It defiantly appears that they are right because it didn’t take them 24 hours to get me the results.
