LynnTWhat a coincidence! I just this moment got off the phone with my son’s doctor who informed me that Ryan’s levels were up. His OHP level was in the 4,000. The reason that it surprised me is not the number being high, but it is because his behavior has been very stable and sweet. He hugs me on a whim, kisses me at random and tells me he loves me several times a day.
I’m usually dead on when I judge his levels by his behavior but I guess this time I was off.
We are now going to increase his cortef by 5mg. and then check him again in 1 month. I sure hope I don’t loose my sweet caring young boy(;>).
I know that it is very important to keep the bone age as close to the actual age as possible and that depends on what we do now.
However, once we let him go through puberty and his bones fuse he stops growing and we won’t have to worry quite so much anymore just like Tonya’s husband.
He will just need a maintenance dose that will keep him feeling well (unless of course he gets sick or has to deal with tremendous stress). That’s something to look forward to.
