My daughter is 8 and has been on cortef (very low dose 5mg) for almost a year. She is in full puberty (not menstruating) and has a very advanced bone age (11). Our issue right now is WEIGHT....she keeps gaining weight even if I watch very carefully what she eats and make sure she gets enough excersize. Now the problem is worse as she has (actually still is) been taking a stress dose because of a viral infection.  Do I need to put my eight year old on a strict diet???? I just can’t see that happening. It doesn’t seem to me that she eats excessively, and we do not allow junk food in the house (mom needs to diet, lol). Has anyone else dealt with this, and do you have any suggestions? She sees her endo the last week of this month, so I will definately be discussing this with him then, but in the mean time, your experience would be helpful!
