Blood Test with CVS?
Apr. 15th, 2004   5:10pm

Hello everyone! I was hoping someone could please help me. We are expecting our second child, our first is seven and a SWCAH girl. I had the CVS done two weeks ago and have been anxiously awaiting the results. We found out within 48 hours that we are having a boy this time, but still would like to know if he has CAH. The clinic called us today and said they couldn’t send our CVS sample to Cornell, until they had blood samples from both myself and my husband. They explained that this would help with the testing for our son, to determine if the mutation is with me or my husband. Is it me, or are they not understanding CAH? We already know we are both carriers for the gene. I would like to know if anyone else has had to send blood samples from both parents in order to determine CAH from a CVS or amnio. Thanks in advance for any information you can give.
