I am not an expert either but from what I remember when my daughter was an infant, her endo. told me that too little of sodium or too high CAN alter growth. That is one of the reasons why it was so important for us to give her that sodium as an infant. (she is a salt waster (21 hydroxylase deficiency) She is now about 3 months shy of her 7th birthday. Your endocrinologist should be watching her growth along with her pediatrician. I can remember when my daughter was an infant we would alter her meds. including sodium intake, after we would check her bloodwork levels AND her weight and height. If either one would start to slip off the scale one way or the other, we would change her medication dosage. With any advice I give here, always check with your endo. I usually come here with questions, take my answers and questions to her endo. Then weigh the two answers i got from here and him, and then I take that gut feeling God gave us as mothers, and make the right choice for my daughter that I FEEL is right. With CAH there is such a gray area. It can be quite frustrating at times. Believe me when I say, I rely a lot of God to give me the right direction with this CAH stuff.Laura
