My daughter several times has had high fevers. They would go down with advil but as soon as the advil wore off would spike again. The first times we triple dosed, advil round the clock (waking her at night etc.) Then she gets to a point where it’s been too much for her system and she vomits. Not your normal vomit or stomach virus. Definately a "going into crisis" vomit. Thick foamy and scary. Then we’d give her the injection. Now we don’t wait so long. We know this is how her body responds to high fevers that last for more than a day. We give the shot and are sooooooo relieved at how fast she gets over the whole thing. The first two times we said to each other "why did we wait so long to give the solu cortef?!" I am not saying your daughter needs the shot. I just think sometimes it’s helps to hear what others have experienced with our CAH children! I hope your daughter is doing better. Julia Oh yeah...when my daughter has fevers and is on advil she will run around like nothing’s wrong too. That’s part of the problem, I think, she’s not resting and helping her body get better. I wish I could let her sweat it out but we just can’t with CAH.Julia S
