re: re: best method for giving salt doses to infants

Has anyone tried rubbing the salt mixed to a paste onto the inside of a cheek, a couple of times a day? Then quickly followed by a feed? A wise old mum used to do it that way  with good results.

We are syringing 2.1 mls saline  in three times a day and he hates it! It is a dilution of 1/4 tsp salt to 9 mils water.

He sometimes vomits it back up and other times  has a large mucus plug come up with chocking.

I am looking for the easiest least stressful way for him.
