re: height and cah: growth hormone

Too much cortef will stunt growth and add weight. Some believe any thing under 1000(17ohp) is ok for these kids. My son was always short for his age but not overweight so the endo. always said his dose was ok because he was not heavy. We lowered his cortef dose at age 9-10y.o. in hopes of growth but early puberty started. Around 10 1/2y.o. we started growth hormone to speed growth.  Around 11 1/2y.o. we put him on lupron to stop the puberty. The growth hormone works great, very good growth around 4-6" a year, the lupron..... I’m not sure yet he just turned 12 and he is not nearly as aggressive as he was 6 mo. ago, wants lots of hugs which is great but it’s like a different kid also he’s not doing as well in school as he was before he just seems to have lost his drive. My daughter is 9 y.o. average growth average levels. Both kids are SWCAH, my son was diagnosed at 1 month old my daughter 9 weeks gestation via cervical villi sampling. Hope this helps.
