I had occasional, very mild back stiffness before starting Prednisone, but since I began taking it, I’ve experienced relatively serious joint and back pain. I often feel like my bones are weak and fragile, and if I bump a wrist or elbow, it remains sore for longer than usual. I absolutely believe this is caused by the steroid. I have also noticed decreased vision; I have to wear my glasses all the time now as opposed to just while driving at night. My doctors tell me these effects aren’t possible on such a low dose so soon, but nonetheless, they are happening.
