MarieCongratulations on your honesty and willingness to share your life. As you stated, your site is geared to young adult women with CAH. So I would assume that the women who go to your site are well established with their sexual identity. I have heard that in the general population the ratio of gay to straight is 1 (gay) to 10 (straight). With the stigma, hatred and violence that is perpetrated on gay youth, I am wondering if that ratio might actually higher. Has anyone ever investigated the ratio in the CAH population?
Being gay is not a choice or disease and it is only a small part of the whole person. I don’t think that my heterosexuality defines me as a person. Sadly homosexuality remains the number one "unacceptable" aspect of the human condition.
Natalie, or anyone else that is wondering, if your child turns out to be gay, IMO it is not because of CAH, it is who he/she was intended to be.
Oh by the way, I live in the great state of Massachusetts.....(gay marriages will be legal May 17th) and my healthy noncah son is gay.....
