When my daughter had a cystoscopy done last year in Rochester, MN (Mayo Clinic) they used solu-medral instead of solu-cortef thru her IV.  The endo, surgeon and anesthesiologist all said it was fine to use.  Sorry, I’m not remembering any reasons given for the switch.
