The paramedics in my area are caryying kits on their vehicles for my two SWCAH children that include Solu-Medrol.  I was told it was longer acting.  The school my children attend will not allow me to even keep a shot kit in the front office in case of an emergency, nor will the school deal with giving any injections in case something happens, so I had to go right to the people that would respond if 911 was called.  The paramedics already carried Solu-Medrol on the trucks,  so perhaps it was just a matter of convenience as to why they did not include Solu-Cortef in the kits for my kids.
