JudyMy 9 year old SWCAH son does have what is considered a speech issue. But not the type that most really notice. It’s actually something that I noticed when he was about 3 or so and it was finally diagnosed through other testing for learning disabilities 2 years ago. The only way I could describe it was to say that he stuttered his thoughts not his words. Now that he is older it’s a bit different but it is still there. He does work with a specialist at school. He has difficulty recalling the appropriate words for things. He will refer to the rides at an amusement park (only sometimes) as the toys. Or one time he tried to ask my husbands cousin how old he was and he asked him how long he had been living. I know that may actually sound a bit funny especially coming from a young child but I worry about what he will sound like when he gets older. He’s actually extremely smart and does very well in school now that he gets some assistance. But all that being said I never contributed it to his meds. I really believe it is part of his learning disabilities, which are also inherited (from me / I’m dyslexic). Poor kid he got it all : ) But he is one of the happiest people you’d ever meet.
