re: Pain in legs!!

I also had terrible leg and knee pain/aching until I was in my early twenties. My paediatrician/endo recorded in my medical history, when I was ten years old (back in the sixties)- patient is "Complaining of pains in legs below knees - seems to be in bone". Of course, there was never any suggestion (like everything else) that it could be related to either CAH or steroid use, nor were there any suggestions for helping the problem - seems like nothing has changed!

My bone age however, was always quite advanced; eg. at eight years old bone age was fourteen, at eleven my records state the BA as being that of a seventeen/eighteen year old, at fifteen BA was 18 or more, despite the fact that most of the time I was taking between 10 and 20 mgs of Pred (equiv 40 - 80mgs Hydrocortisone). So goodness knows whether there is something about steroid use that exacerbates these pains in children and adolescents.

PS. BTW - Why did my bone age continue to be advanced despite, what in todays terms seem to be a more than an adequate dose???
