to Marie regarding post below

hello, glad you posted. I just wanted to say that I have often wondered the same about growth hormone once the growing process has stopped. What happens to it. I have read about acromegaly and I wonder if that would be something that we should look out for. If I had to choose I would take big bones anyway so I’m not complaining here. But I also wonder why doctors never take a peek to see what the GH levels look like. Even in treated individuals. Seems to me like thats another way to tell if one is being oversupressed or not. Also many locahers have simular traits, not all mind you. But the large or wide facial (or hardened) facial features, spaces between teeth, higher hair line, wider shoulders those are just some of the signs of acromegaly. Seems all I have read though is acromegaly due to pit tumor, and children with cah but nothing else. My grandmother, some aunts, and my father seem to have those traits that happened to them later in life.

Anyway Marie, I hope that it is good in your case. To be one of the superwomen that make it through life without steroid treatment, would be a dream for many of us with LOCAH. I have said in the past that it is like choosing between 2 monsters.

If you don’t mind me asking, can you tell me what symptoms you do have and how you are dealing with it? Take care, again thanks for posting. Seems like there are not many adult late onsetters out there posting .  Hope this makes sense, kinda rushing here to pick up the kids.  :o)
