Those are magical words:  adrenal insufficiency.  I’ve been to the ER with a flu - waited for my turn.  Got a nice pat on the head by the ER doc for wasting his time, sent home with antibiotics.  Didn’t mention adrenal insufficiency.  I complained to my endo and he told me the magic words.

Two years later:  I stumbled into the ER with my husband and said, "adrenally insufficient and vomitting for 5 hours." Bang!  Wheelchair into the back, paperwork can wait, get the IV going, hydrocortisone shot.  What a difference!
