I’m not sure but I think so. I’m looking for information about this right now. We,ve recently learnt that C.A.H. runs in our family. One case is my neice who has been diagnosed as having the syndrome (not just a carrier) but she has none of the classic symptoms. She has just had her first baby with ease of conception and with no complications. She does, however have problems controlling her weight even though she is very active and eats very sensibly. I am now concerned that my daughter’s weight problem which seems to be ruining her life, may be due to C.A.H. She is not diagnosed with C.A.H. but is going to be tested shortly She was always a very slim child but has gained weight rapidly since the onset of puberty at the fairly early age of 11. She is now 18. She also has very painful and irregular periods and struggles manfully against depression. I wonder if she could be insulin resistant. She does have strong sugar cravings. I understand that pills to make a person less insulin resistant can be prescribed and could help with weight loss and control as well as helping to protect against diabetes. Is this helpful to you? Have you anything else to add that may help us? I’d love to hear from you.One other interesting thing is that I have heard of a young woman manifesting lots of classic C.A.H. symptoms even though she was only a carrier- the reverse of my neice being full blown and having no or few symptoms.Damien
