I agree with you Michelle -  calcium supplements can do no harm and as I see it they have the potential to help improve bone density. I don’t understand why the endocrinologists my son sees think I am wasting my money though!  There is a chart for bone density, which gives different ’normal’ readings dependant on age.  Full bone density is not reached until mid-twenties and everyone develops at different rates, so readings on children are not well understood.  My son with CAH had a much lower than average reading though, whereas the reading for my son without CAH was spot on the ’normal’ line.  I can’t help thinking it has to be due to the medication as my son with CAH eats relatively healthily whereas the other one is a nightmare to feed - doesn’t like dairy products or fruit and vegetables!
