I know it seems obvious that if he doesn’t have CAH so he shouldn’t take cortef.  But I really got a lot of opinions (from doctors), and there are people who treat premature adrenarche without even CAH carrier status with cortef.  I am going to a good doctor (Cornell), and she and several other doctors have not come up with any reason why my son has premature adrenarche and advanced bone age.  I also know that if he had grown proportionately with his bone age he would be OK but he didn’t.  He’s still in the same percentile that he was before.    I don’t think that the amount of cortef that he’s taking is really that dangerous.  The new doctor I saw said that if boys have lower bone density it isn’t as serious because pregnancy really depletes women’s bones.  I appreciate your input, but do you think I should do nothing and let his bone age advance at the rate of 2 years per year without trying something?
