Susan A.Michelle - Do you mean you take .75 now? or .5? or .25? I ended up doubling up last night and then took .5 today - and I have to say I feel much better. My face looks better this morning too. I do some arm exercises (with dumbells) here at home and a lot of ab exercises every day (2X) then I go to the gym 3 times a week and hike on the weekend (usually from 6-10 miles). I feel good with the exercise - no signs of any depression... but have been crankier with the higher numbers.....still havent got my period for this months either and the endo said I wasn’t into menopause (he did a blood draw for that too). Amazing what this crap can do to you!
PS - found my 17OHP was 70 (not 200) in January and then 1100 when tested 2 weeks ago (yikes!) NOT GOOD. I had been getting into the anorexia stage... not wanting to eat very much.... though now with the extra Dex I’m SURE THAT WONT BE A PROBLEM! Dangit!
Oh - As far as the stim test goes... when I was diagnosed (in 1979) I don’t know if they even had such a thing.....it wasn’t done on me anyway. my 17OHP was checked though. The only time I had one was about 6 years ago (and I had been on steroids a long time)... I had a rise from .5 to .7 - basically my adrenals don’t function anymore - well not as far as making cortisol that is. My endo (has since been replaced) freaked and told me to get home that minute and get my medical bracelet on.
I’ve always wondered if I was classic too.... I know we have some similarities.... Since I was infertile (no periods at all ever) I think I have a more severe case of LOCAH or a mild case of Classical CAH. I had lots of signs as a child too (besides hair growth).
Interesting.... oh also the part of taking some cortef in the afternoon is intriguing to me... my endo does want to have me take the .5 for now and try to back me down again if possible... too hard on my bones otherwise. But that might be a solution.....
Thanks.
Susan
