long term steroid use & tendonitis, arthritis & other joint-related issues
May. 19th, 2004   1:06pm

It’s been a while since I’ve posted.  I hope everyone is well.  A month ago, I tore the tendon in a finger when my fingernail got caught in a towel while I was drying my hands quickly.  Ouch!  Now, while this could happen to anyone (causing the person to feel as dumb as I did), my hand specialist suspects my life-long steroid use has contributed to my being pre-disposed to such injuries, and suggested glucosamine as a possible preventative measure.

He stated athletes who receive cortisone injections often have tendon issues or suffer arthritis later in these areas, and that could be why my tendon tore so easily.  Do any of you CAH adults have similar joint problems?  I knew that bone density remains a concern, but what about this?  Any feedback will be appreciated.

Warm Regards, Eric
