My daughter, Erica, is a salt-wasting CAH patient.  She is now 18 yrs. old, and has requested, and applied for Bariatric surgery.  Of course the insurance company knows little or nothing about this disease, and the effects of the disease and the necessary medications, on a patient’s weight gain.  They have denied the surgery at this time, but have agreed to an appeal hearing we have requested.  I need to find any and all information concerning this topic, to present at the appeal hearing. If anyone knows of, or has any information concerning weight gain and CAH, would you be so kind to let me know?  I would be most appreciative.
