After a visit with my doctor I find out that I’m clinically depressed as a result of the prednisone that I’m on.  He seemed rather quick (after a ten minute conversation)to diagnose and suggest an anti depressant.  And I’m hessitant to take any medication, especially ones that "reset the chemicals in your brain," as my doctor put it.  

He suggested that I take EffexorXR.  I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with it or even with depression in general while on prednisone.  Any suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated.
