My heart goes out to your daughter. I have a friend who went that route years ago and I know it’s not easy. My daughter (CAH, slight salt waster) used to fight weight for years (from about age 5 to 12). She happened to get very sick with Acid Reflux and we had to make some dietary changes for her. Basically we cut out all the fat we could and eliminated caffiene. The weight came right off! I have since learned that caffiene stimulates the production of insulin which encourages weight gain. Of course, cutting the fat meant cutting lots of useless calories. I know your daughter must have tried every diet out there if she has decided she wants the surgery, but I must warn you that even after the surgery the weight can be gained back. My friend lost the weight, had a tummy tuck to lose the excess skin, and over the years gained the weight back. She currently weighs 300+ lbs. I believe dietary lifestyle change is the way to go. I will keep you and your daughter in my prayers that she will find the solution to her weight problem.Kay
